Here's the deal… If you want to go racing, in actual wheel to wheel or fender to fender competition, there's nothing better than the amazingly accessible Skip Barber Race Series. Your choice of two proven race cars: The Formula Skip Barber, or the race-prepped Mazda MX-5 Miata. No need for you to buy, prep, haul and fix a race car. We do all that. Your "job" is to show up with your friends and family and race, having the time of your life!

The vast majority of drivers in the regional open-wheel Formula Skip Barber Race Series and the MX-5 Miata MAZDASPEED Challenge are just like you; people between 15 and 65 years old who love motorsports and have found a tremendously fun, hassle-free way to race, as a hobby or avocation. The mix of equal cars, the arrive-and-drive format (we bring everything, from the cars to the racing suits) and the fantastic camaraderie between all the competitors bring many drivers back year after year.

Yes, young drivers have long used Skip Barber Racing as their jumping-off point for professional careers, and for many good reasons. But the essence of Skip Barber Regional Racing is regular people doing what they may have thought was difficult or even impossible: real racing, on famous tracks around North America. And you can enter as few or as many races as you want; Skip Barber Racing is specifically designed to be financially and geographically accessible, year round.

There are eligibility requirements, so if you are a graduate of the Skip Barber Three-Day Racing School (or other recognized competition courses), you are only a few "Advanced Activities" away from taking your first green flag. "Drivers! Start... your... engines!"

The granddaddy of Skip Barber Racing competition – the first year was 1976 – the Skip Barber Race Series is the largest open-wheel amateur championship in North America. Each year, hundreds of drivers take part in exciting, fun and hassle-free open-wheel racing at dozens of North America's finest race tracks.

MAZDASPEED Challenge Regional Race Series
With so much experience and expertise running equal-car racing championships, and with Skip Barber Racing and Mazda now partners in the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development ladder system, it was a natural for us to create and run a championship using one of Mazda's iconic sports car, the MX-5 Miata.
